We paint expressive, original art on conventional wood furniture. Wood is our canvas--wooden chairs, bar stools, end tables, boxes, and any number of wood items that you want to enhance or rejuvenate. We create rugged, elegant designs that transform your unadorned furniture from drab and dull to vibrant and vigorous. If you own stale, tired pieces that sit in storage or function as mere utility, we offer an aesthetic alternative. We scratch everything on old, forgotten furniture and create a striking, novel design that evocatively reflects your spirit and personal style. Your formerly lifeless furniture will vivify new space as a lively accent or artistic centerpiece.

Our primary medium is milk paint, or casein, an eco-friendly substance comprising milk, lime, and earth pigments. Milk paint colors are penetrating and luminous; they unleash a mystical, exalted presence to the art that is both earthy and ethereal, ancient and enduring. Scratch Everything combines our passion for edgy, inventive art and our fresh-out-of-the-wrapper ingenuities. After experimenting with a variety of colors, textures, and materials, we subsequently winnowed, scraped, scratched, scrapped, and wrestled with visible and hidden imperfections and unexpected results. We ultimately transcended our tremors, shaped a clear vision, and eclipsed our own boundaries. Our art captures the free-spirited, individual charm and character inherent to beautiful and diverse Austin.

We are an independent business that began in 2005. Our co-creator, Val Vasquez, generously contributed her artistic talents and creative brio during its inception. We adhere to the principle sparked by William Morris that the will to create and make something exist engages the energies of the mind, body, and spirit.

Every order is a custom order, and we speak directly with you to determine your desires and preferences. The furniture we paint can be supplied by us or by the customer. The best way for you to place an order is to view our gallery (online and on-site), view our portfolio of previous and ongoing work, and talk to us about your preferences. We invite you to come tour our gallery of current stock located in northeast Austin and see the dynamic synergy of milk paint, wood, and unique art.

You can order one piece or an ensemble. Your order can be as small as a wooden box or as large as a table and chairs. You can select and purchase from our one-of-a-kind stock or place a new order to be created. Go eclectic, rustic, psychedelic or sublime, or suggest a combination of different styles and new ideas.
